Shawn Adamek EVP, Client Engagement
EVP, Client Engagement
Shawn Adamek joins Monitor 360 as its EVP of Client Engagement with over 20 years of Silicon Valley experience focused in product, marketing and relationship management.
As Vice President and General Manager of Client Services at Epsilon, Adamek managed leading technology and energy accounts including Oracle, PWC, Chevron, Supercell, and Intel, delivering digital strategy and creative services, technology platforms, and marketingcampaign consultation, growing his book of business 25% year on year.
Prior to Epsilon, Shawn served as President of Tribal Brands, a boutique mobile analytics and marketing agency. Driving development, marketing and operations Adamek delivered mobile platforms andcampaigns to global clients including Shell, Chrysler, The United Nations, XBOX, and Verizon.
Adamek has served in a number of capacities for leading technology companies including NVIDIA, where he ran global carrier strategy, and Beatnik, where he owned a software technology product line that shipped in over 2 billion mobile phones worldwide.
Shawn began his career producing educational multimedia applications to K-8 school districts for a company that is now part of Pearson Education.
A graduate of Stanford University with a BA in Communication focusing on human interaction with media technologies, Adamek was also co-captain of the Stanford Men’s Gymnastics team that won two national championships in 1992 and 1993.
Andrew Director, Business Development

Andrew brings nearly a decade of business development experience to Monitor 360 having worked with well-known enterprises such as Microsoft, Amazon, Salesforce, Citrix Systems, EMC, HP, Dell and Google. Andrew enjoys the challenge of building and scaling sales teams that are as unique as the products they sell. He aims to help organizations achieve their strategic initiatives, and growtheir businesses in a methodical and sustainable manner. Prior to Monitor 360, he was a founding sales hire at BrightTALK where he helped grow and scale the team to over 20 people. Since then he has successfully built and scaled sales teams for organizations backed by Sequoia Capital, Google Ventures, and Greylock Capital.
When he's not in the office, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family (particularly his nephew and niece), as well as skiing, whenever possible. He is an avid reader, soccer player, Giants fan, and runner. While his academic background is in molecular biology, he is a huge fan of antiquity - particularly the writings of Livy and Polybius. Andrew is also fascinated with investing in derivatives, specifically options trading.

Robert leverages more than 20 years of strategic marketing experience at both start-ups and Fortune 500 companies in the software, media, cloud infrastructure, and software-as-a-service industries. In addition to holding executive positions at Gild, GoGrid, Clickability, AOL, Ziff-Davis (ZDNet), and Wind River, Robert was a founding team member of GNN, the world’s first commercial website. Robert is also a guest lecturer at the Haas School of Business, University of California-Berkeley, and a former multi-year board member of the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) Marketing Executive Council.
Prior to joining M360, Kristen taught English at a school in Northwest Spain for a semester. Before teaching in Spain, she worked as a project analyst at Mintz Levin, a Boston-based law and government-relations consulting firm, for two years. During her time at Mintz, Kristen worked on projects related to government legislation, litigation, and immigration, corporate, and pro bono law. She was particularly interested in her work with clients seeking political asylum and legal assistance in domestic violence cases.
Kristen received a BA in Political Science and International Security Studies from Yale University. At Yale, she completed her thesis on the relationship between cartels and government and communities in Mexico, and was a member of the women’s lacrosse team and a live sports broadcaster for other athletic events. Kristen is proficient in Spanish and enjoys traveling, skiing, the Patriots, and pickup soccer.

Goldie Chow is a Director of Analytics & Insights at Monitor 360. Goldie works to build processes that deliver actionable insights from messy, complex data. She joins M360 from Samasource, where she built and led the data and insights team—overseeing the collection of data and its strategic application.
Goldie’s prior experience ranges from on-the-ground survey and experimental data collection (researching micro-enterprises in South India) to pricing model development (at General Mills) to procurement strategy optimization (at Nestle).
Goldie grew up in Tokyo, Taipei, and Singapore. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a M.A. in International and Development Economics from the University of San Francisco.
Sir Ronald Cohen Advisor
Sir Ronald Cohen is Chairman of the Global Social Impact Investment Steering Group and The Portland Trust. He chaired the Social Impact Investment Taskforce established under the UK’s presidency of the G8 (2013-2015), the Social Investment Task Force (2000-2010) and the Commission on Unclaimed Assets (2005-2007). In 2012 he received the Rockefeller Innovation Award for innovation in social finance. He is a graduate of Oxford University, where he was President of the Oxford Union. He is an Honorary Fellow of Exeter College, Oxford. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School to which he was awarded a Henry Fellowship. He is a member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors at Harvard Business School and Vice-Chairman of Ben Gurion University.
Paige is a recent graduate of the George Washington University with majors in French and International Affairs. Her previous internship experience includes work with USAID in Uganda and the US Chamber of Commerce.

Jan Doesselmann is our Lead Platform Engineer for Monitor 360. Prior to joining Monitor 360, Jan worked in politics and in public relations as a Systems Architect and Engineer, where he designed and built data-heavy applications for analytics departments. Jan holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Berlin. Jan lived and worked in Germany and Spain and he is fluent in German and Spanish. He enjoys playing ping-pong, skiing, and a variety of outdoor activities.

Jonathan is a Director of Analytics at Monitor 360, where he leads teams using large-scale data analytics to solve client problems. He has advised non-profit, commercial, and government organizations on topics that include public education in the United States, Latin American politics, geospatial technology, and cybersecurity.
Before joining Monitor 360, Jonathan worked with Democracy International, where he designed and implemented development programs in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sudan on behalf of the US Agency for International Development.
Jonathan holds a BA in Government from Harvard and an MA in International Policy from Stanford. He plays classical percussion and volunteers as an international election observer.

Uday is the Director of Product Management and has worked in product and technology leadership roles over last 15+ years, ideating, driving strategy, and building SaaS-based products and data platforms for media (news and social), shipping/logistics, marketing, and automotive verticals for companies like Meltwater, Ensighten, IAS (a Triton company), General Electric, etc.
During his career, Uday built teams and launched multiple products and data platforms that resulted in top-line growth and bottom-line improvements. He is enthusiastic about engaging all stakeholders, and especially customers and partners, and incorporating voice of the customer (VOC) into product decisions.
Uday is a collaborative team player who believes in the power of strong professional relationships and how that helps in organizational success. He is adept at leveraging offshore teams to fast-track software development and has frequently put together engagement strategies to increase offshore productivity.
Uday has a bachelors in Computer Science from VNIT, India and MBA from Santa Clara University.
When not working, Uday enjoys spending time with his three daughters, hiking, reading, cooking, and doing DIY projects at home.
Theo is a senior at Georgetown University majoring in Government. Theo was a member of John Stanton's team in the inaugural Fellow Program of the Institute of Politics and Public Service and a recipient of the 2015 Taiwan-U.S. Sister Relations Alliance Ambassador scholarship. Outside of school, Theo works as a music producer as well as on several independent mixed media projects, which often play with feedback loops and randomization. In the coming year, Theo hopes to further bring his creative skills and academic interests together. He previously worked as a research intern at the Center for Open Data Enterprise and is a candidate in the Government Honors Thesis Program at Georgetown.

Adam Gutcheon is our Lead Data Engineer. He brings 15+ years’ experience in data analytics technology to M360’s Narrative Analytics platform. As a consultant, working with clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies, he built systems using a variety of technologies to obtain insight from massive amounts of data. Previously, as the analytics technology manager for the Democratic National Committee, Adam built backend systems that helped to win congressional and gubernatorial campaigns. Adam taught workshops on distributed systems, predictive analytics, big data, and geographic data. He is a former member of the Windsor, Connecticut Board of Education.
Ethan Hamilton is an analyst for Monitor 360. Ethan received his MA in International Policy Studies at Stanford University, where he focused on private sector international development, experimental study design, and machine learning techniques. While completing his Master’s degree, his interests led him to design and manage a drug quality testing program in western Kenya, work to bring e-readers to classrooms across Ghana, and help a development foundation increase local livelihoods through crab farming in the Philippines. He also served as co-Editor-in-Chief for the Stanford International Policy Review. Prior to Stanford, Ethan was an English and science teacher in South Korea and the lead designer for a software firm in Southern California, where he received his BA in International Studies from Pepperdine University. Ethan loves to cook, and insists on trying a new ingredient for his French toast recipe every time he makes them. He also loves skiing, rock climbing, and playing the piano.

Aaron is EVP of Product, Strategy & Finance at Monitor 360 and a recognized thought leader on narrative and strategic communications. At Monitor 360, he’s responsible for pioneering and building the Narrative Analytics suite of products, including the Master Narratives Platform, a partnership with the U.S. Government focused on understanding the beliefs and mindsets of foreign populations in over 40 countries.
Aaron has over 15 years of experience advising leaders at The White House, State Department, Intelligence Community, and at a range of global corporations and foundations on strategic communications, geopolitical uncertainty, organizational design, and strategy. His work and his writing have been featured in The American Interest, Parameters, and Strategy & Leadership.
Aaron received his MBA from The Wharton School, his MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS, and his BA from Macalester College. Aaron has a life-long love for maps and will eagerly join any trivia team that needs a geography ringer.
Guillaume Lead Analyst
Guillaume Julian is a Lead Analyst at Monitor 360, where he helps clients understand complex geopolitical challenges. Prior to joining Monitor 360, Guillaume worked on political analysis in various DC think tanks, with a special focus on transatlantic relations and European politics.
Guillaume graduated from George Washington University with a BA in International Affairs and completed an honors thesis on the electoral politics of the extreme right in France. A dual national, Guillaume is fluent in French and is proficient in Spanish.

David H. Langstaff is a business and community leader with extensive experience as Chief Executive Officer and Director of advanced technology and professional services companies. He served as President and CEO, and previously as Chairman of the Board of TASC, Inc.; Founder, President & CEO and Director of Veridian Corporation, which he took public in 2002; and CEO and Co-Chairman of Olive Group. David is a member of the Defense Business Board, a director of The Hitachi Foundation, a trustee of The Committee for Economic Development, an Executive Fellow for the Center for Higher Ambition Leadership, and a senior moderator of leadership seminars for the Aspen Institute and chair of its Business and Society Program Advisory Board. He currently serves as Chairman of Monitor 360, a pioneer in the field of Narrative Analytics.
Matt Lead Analyst
Matt is a Lead Analyst at Monitor 360. Over the last eight months, he has split his time among various projects – most notably at ChangeLabs, where he managed the organization’s work with the Resilient Africa Network to diffuse design thinking and scaled innovation methodologies within universities and innovator communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
He worked for three years in the democracy development field, contributing to the design and implementation of legislative strengthening programs in Latin America, coordinating the publication of a training handbook for diplomats, and heading international conferences dedicated to building regional civil society networks.
While completing his master’s degree in International Policy Studies at Stanford University, he focused on the social and economic costs of corruption and the development of political institutions. These interests led him to pursue pro-bono consulting opportunities in the public and non-profit sectors, with the Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy in India, the National Democratic Institute’s parliamentary strengthening program in Myanmar, and the U.S. government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation. Matt received his B.A. from the George Washington University, is an avid Tottenham Hotspurs supporter, and loves cheese (anything but the bleu stuff).

Jeff Marshall joins Monitor 360’s Engagement Management team with over 20 years’ experience leading innovative teams and managing highly successful customer engagements.
As Regional VP at DigitalThink, Jeff led large-scale engagements for Fortune 500 clients. In the RVP role Jeff held responsibility for both implementation and sales, leading teams of dozens of professional services and engineering contributors, and crafting multi-million dollar agreements. Jeff also worked for the strategy consulting firm Mitchell Madison Group, and has consulted individually to several Silicon Valley companies.
A former teacher, Jeff is passionate about education, and has co-founded 2 successful educational technology startups: Brightstorm and School 21. As CEO of those organizations Jeff built teams that created innovative technology platforms and thousands of multimedia learning resources that help students throughout the US to succeed in school.
Jeff serves on the board of the Oakland Zoo, and served for several years as President of the board of the Coalition of Essential Schools, a national school reform organization. Jeff enjoys coaching his kids’ soccer teams and summiting peaks, including Kilimanjaro, Half Dome and Whitney.
Jeff holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Brown University, and a BA in English from Stanford University.

Cia McCaffrey is Vice President of Talent and Operations at Monitor 360. She is focused on achieving company goals by maintaining a high level of employee satisfaction while maximizing the potential in every employee. Her goal is to attract highly innovative, kind, smart, and fun people to Monitor 360 and help them achieve their career goals.
Previous to Monitor 360 Cia was co-founder and Vice President of Talent for ForeSee Inc., a leader in the customer analytics industry. She helped build the company from inception to a successful exit going from 0 to over 300 employees through global talent acquisition, innovative staff training programs and unique employee development practices. Cia built amazing teams of sales professionals and client service analysts contributing to 40 consecutive quarters of over 25% revenue growth.
Cia has 20 years of experience successfully managing Human Resource departments for fast paced and growing technology companies including the Ecommerce Division of Compuware Inc. She has an open approach to employee engagement balanced with business-minded organizational development resulting in winning several “Best Places to Work” awards. She has opened and managed offices in Europe, Canada and across the United States which contributed to increasing company revenue while maintaining company values on a global level.

Trisha is an Associate Director, Analytics & Insights at Monitor 360, where she conducts quantitative and qualitative research for government and commercial clients.
Prior to joining Monitor 360, Trisha worked at the United Nations Foundation in New York, where she analyzed global negotiations on a range of development issues including climate change, education, and health. She also previously worked at the European Union’s foreign policy department in Brussels on EU-India relations, and with the State Department in Brazil covering political-economic issues.
Trisha holds an MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy from Oxford University and a BA in Peace and Conflict Studies from U.C. Berkeley. She speaks Spanish and Portuguese and has lived and worked in Brazil, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Argentina. A California Bay Area native, she enjoys playing volleyball, trying new restaurants, and traveling.

Becky's work at Monitor 360 focuses on surfacing narrative insights for commercial and government clients. Prior to joining Monitor 360, Becky worked as an analyst at the Department of Justice in Los Angeles, where she analyzed data related to mortgage-backed securities fraud and worked with the case team responsible for securing a $16.65 billion settlement with Bank of America. Other prior experience includes nearly 5 years creating global analysis and strategic communication products for the US Intelligence Community as a contractor, managing social media and other marketing efforts for a magazine publishing company, and working in operations at a small medical device startup in the Bay Area.
Becky received a BA in English from UC Berkeley and a Masters of Communication Management from USC, where she focused on emerging communication technology and its impact on individuals, organizations, and markets. A highlight while attending Berkeley was being a member of the Women’s Rowing team that won the NCAA national championship in 2005. In her free time, Becky enjoys cycling, traveling, cheering for the Cal Bears, and participating in recreational sports leagues.
Rita Parhad EVP, US Government

Rita is EVP of US Government at Monitor 360. Prior to joining Monitor 360, Rita worked on international and national security issues for the Department of Defense at the US Mission to NATO in Brussels and for the Department of State at the US Mission to the United Nations in New York. She has also worked on international security issues in the non-profit sector, as a policy researcher and program coordinator at the Center on International Cooperation at New York University, and as a consultant for the Ford Foundation. She has taught numerous courses in international relations, political economy, and international law at UC Berkeley. Monitor 360, where she leads a variety of projects exploring complex analytic problems in the areas of geopolitics and national security. She focuses on strategic planning, analytic methodology development, and program/research design for US government clients in the defense and intelligence communities.
Rita holds a BA in Government and International Studies from the University of Notre Dame, an MPA in Public and International Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, and a PhD in Political Science from UC Berkeley.

Bryan is EVP of Analytics & Insights at Monitor 360. He leads our group of Narrative Experts who apply the Protagonist platform to unleash the power of Narrative Analytics, enabling our clients to understand and shape the narratives that matter to them. He is also the head of our Washington DC operations.
Before joining Monitor 360, Bryan was part of the leadership teams of two boutique consulting firms, Nineline Technologies (which he co-founded) and Toffler Associates. During this time, he helped create a serious video game that used the power of narratives and immersive storytelling to reduce cognitive bias. He also led a number of projects to develop innovative analytics techniques and technical intelligence capabilities for the US Government.
Bryan also served as business advisor to an electronic medical records start-up. He was previously a business intelligence analyst for KPMG Consulting/BearingPoint, were he worked on data mining and data warehousing projects for the US Intelligence Community. As a former Army officer, Bryan served in combat arms, intelligence, and special operations roles and completed tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Bryan holds an MBA from the University of Maryland and a BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University.

Ben is an NLP engineer and data scientist. My background is in the research and development of text analysis, business intelligence, and recommendation system applications, in startup and large corporate environments.
When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, cooking new dishes, doing photography, and hiking and biking around the area. And I'm always down to try a new restaurant, bar, or some live music :)

Chris Povio is our VP of Business Development for the Corporate market.
Chris has over 20 years of experience managing sales teams and has sold to the biggest brands in the world such as Microsoft, JP Morgan, Apple, Salesforce, SAP, HP, and Intel. He enjoys building and growing businesses while delivering value to clients and making them successful. He has worked at CMP Media, BrightTALK and BrightFunnel helping marketers build their brands and make better marketing decisions. He was also a founding team member of Sepialine, a software company, that was then sold to one of their biggest business partners.
Outside of work, Chris races sailboats, plays competitive tennis, is always reading a few books at a time, and most importantly loves spending time with his wife and two daughters who also love to sail and play tennis. Chris holds a Bachelors degree in Political Science from San Jose State University.

Doug is CEO and Founder of Monitor 360. He is a recognized thought leader on Narrative Analytics, scenario planning, managing uncertainty, and intelligence analysis reform.
Doug has over 20 years of experience working in the private sector, with corporations including Salesforce, VMware, and Coca-Cola. In the public sector, he has worked with DOD, CIA, NGA, the State Department, DHS NCTC, and many other agencies to develop innovation and strategic planning programs. Together with his colleagues at Monitor 360, he has created innovative analysis programs that leverage new methods to solve complex national security problems, including the Institute for Analysis and the Master Narratives program.
Doug has lectured at the Wharton School, Stanford University, and National Defense University; his articles have appeared in the Financial Times, Wired, and Business 2.0. He was previously a partner at Monitor and co-head of the consulting practice at Global Business Network (GBN). Before that, he was a Vice President at Snapfish, a senior consultant at Decision Strategies, Inc., and a senior research fellow at the Wharton School.
Doug received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from the Wharton School. He is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization, and he practices Ashtanga yoga and meditates.
Babak Director of Data Science

Babak is a rock and ice climbing enthusiast and amateur astronomer that builds robots and other artificially intelligent systems for a living. I'm was born in Iran, raised in Sweden and lived in and traveled to over 40 countries as a result of which I speak 5 languages. Did my PhD in robotic eyes as well as self-driving cars and started a computer vision company in Sweden while still working on my PhD. Sold my startup 5 years later to Meltwater and subsequently moved to San Francisco. I've lived in SF for 3 years.
Hannah Product Analyst
Hannah is a Product Analyst at Monitor 360. She is a graduate of UC Berkeley where she double majored in Molecular and Cell Biology and Psychology. Her previous work experiences include working for the Asian American Law Journal at Berkeley Law as an Undergraduate Fellow, interning under the UC Student Regent, and working with the Better Berkeley Working Group as a Policy and Legislative Analyst intern. Hannah also has experience working in a wide range of scientific fields, including geochemistry, immunobiology, and genetics. In her spare time, Hannah enjoys playing board games and racquetball.

Robert has 25 years architecting and building information systems. He has built business intelligence and decision support systems for finance, insurance, and hearth care organizations. In addition, Robert built polyglot analytical systems for processing both structured and unstructured data, utilizing relational, document, and graph data stores for applications varying from social media influencer analysis to hedge fund analysis.
Robert received a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from California State University, Hayward. His passions are cooking Cajun/Creole food and playing drum ’n’ bass music.
Alexandra is an Analyst for Monitor 360. She has professional experience in research methods, analytic techniques, and journalism. Previously, Alex worked as a reporter and international editor at The Daily Star newspaper in Beirut, Lebanon, and she has held numerous research positions related to the Middle East.
A graduate of the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Alex focused her Master’s degree on security studies, media analysis, Middle East politics, and international communications strategies. She also served as the Managing Editor for The Fletcher Forum of World Affairs, Fletcher’s primary academic publication and online magazine for topics in international relations.
Alex holds a BA from Tufts University in international affairs. She has traveled extensively in the Middle East, and continues to practice her Mediterranean cooking skills at every opportunity. Alex plays soccer and generally enjoys the outdoors, especially skiing and long-distance running.

Katelyn recently graduated from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, where she concentrated in Global Politics & Security and European & Eurasian Affairs. She is a vegetarian yogi and DC's resident gluten-free Yelp Elite reviewer.
Elizabeth Associate Director, Analytics & Insights

Elizabeth is an Associate Director, Analytics & Insights at Monitor 360, where she conducts ethnographic research and socio-cultural analysis for government and commercial clients.
Elizabeth brings expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including ethnography and econometrics. Her work focuses on helping institutions and individuals understand perceptions, attitudes, and beliefs to effectively tailor strategic communications and avoid strategic surprise. Prior to joining Monitor 360, Elizabeth worked at the US Embassy in Moscow and at the White House.
Elizabeth holds an MA in International Relations and International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), a MA in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University, and a BA from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She has lived and worked in South Korea, Russia, Italy, and Mexico.

Jack is a graduate of San Diego State University where he holds a BA in Anthropology with an emphasis on culture, ethnographic research, and social systems. While playing Lacrosse for the Aztecs, he joined the Policy Speech and Debate Team. He has been involved with the Autism Tree Project and was a Big Brother during his years in San Diego. Upon graduation, he moved back to the Bay Area where he has worked in sales for TechValidate, a boot-strapped startup automating the generation of marketing collateral, and Adaptive Insights, a cloud based financial planning software, before joining Monitor 360.
During his free time, Jack can be found climbing rocks, partaking in anything sports related, enjoying time with family, or reading whatever he can get his hands on. If not involved in one of those activities, look to the guy groovin' on the dance floor.

Ryan is our Python Full Stack Staff Engineer contributing to M360’s Narrative Analytics platform. He brings over a decade of applications development experience at organizations such as Yahoo and Walmart Labs as well as startup environments. He is also excited to be able to apply the statistical, data mining and machine learning knowledge he gained while pursuing his (pending) PhD in Industrial Engineering at Arizona State University.
Ryan is interested in all things historical and cycling through the hills of the Bay Area.

Penny is our Talent Engagement and Acquisition Manager. She is focused on bringing in dynamic talent and supporting the teams on all things Human Resources. Prior to joining Monitor 360, Penny enjoyed a variety of challenging HR roles supporting global organizations on both a small and large scale. A native Californian, Penny currently lives in Alameda, loves the ocean, pretends to be an avid runner and enjoys cooking.

Alex was born in Moscow, Russia and moved to the US with his family at the age of 10. In the states, he spent his childhood attending school in Brooklyn, NY. Alex was a competitive junior tennis player. He attended the University of Pennsylvania. After college he drove cross country to begin his career in technology sales in California. Alex has since helped several early stage technology companies grow and scale their sales. His interests include tennis, mushroom foraging, the outdoors, action movies, high tech, travel, rear wheel drive auto vehicles, and staying fit.

Graham Morehead is a Bostonian, but also European. He likes languages. He loves connecting with people. Graham has been a physicist, an entrepreneur, a computer scientist, an inventor, a marine biologist, a teacher, a linguist, a manager, and an allround problem solver. He appreciates good grammar to a whole nother level. Graham loves to talk. He has lectured at the University of Maine, the National Defense University, and several TEDx events. He is into yoga, coffee, steak, chocolate, bacon, books, red wine, swimming, Raiders of the Lost Ark Graham believes that human language is merely something we observe on the surface the byproduct of our collective communication game. Language is found among the scattered shadows of our complex thoughts and in the contrails of our deepest aspirations. It can ruin an economy, or save the world entire. Caroline brings 10 years of professional services experience. She gained expertise in corporate communications research and strategy, and thought leadership development in a variety of positions. She has led various client engagements that focused on measuring corporate reputation, messaging development, and digital media monitoring. Caroline consulted and led strategy and execution of syndicated global thought leadership studies. Caroline originates from Chicago, IL, spent many years in New York, NY, and now resides in San Francisco, CA. She holds a BA in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Vermont
Katie Finance Director
Katie brings 18 years of financial management experience having worked at Fortune 500 to midsize aggressive growth companies from manufacturing to service industries such as Avery Dennison, Maxim Integrated, Harcourt Education, and Sandbox Studio. She has been involved with a couple of M&A and loves the challenges of financial modeling, analysis, and budgeting. Katie has a B.S. degree in Accountancy and Financial Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She loves to spend time hiking and biking with her family. She's an avid cook often experimenting different dishes and using her family as trial and error. She's always down to try new fun things and considers badminton a great racket sport.
Smitha Marketing Director
Smitha brings over 10 years of data driven marketing experience focused on converting consumer insights and marketing metrics into scalable demand generation programs that drive product growth. Smitha started her career in advertising having worked with agencies on brand positioning and messaging for global brands like Tide and HSBC. She has helped scale up demand generation marketing programs and was most recently with Hewlett Packard Enterprise where she played a key role in accelerating digital marketing programs and contributed to sales pipeline success for enterprise software products. Smitha holds an MBA from Cochin University of Science and Technology, India and an MS in Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University, Chicago. In her spare time Smitha enjoys yoga, movies, and traveling.
Spencer has worked an impact evaluation consultant for the World Bank. He was based in Tanzania where he implemented large scale surveys that evaluated the effectiveness of poverty reduction programs. He has analyzed data for many organizations working with large datasets covering a range of topics including politics, economics, social media and household survey data. He has worked in several countries including Uganda, Tanzania, Hungary and Myanmar. He holds a B.A. in Government and Economics from Claremont McKenna College and a M.S. in International and Development Economics from the University of San Francisco where he was awarded the national DACOR Fellowship. In his free time he plays guitar and tennis, and enjoys surfing and hiking around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Kate graduated from USF with a BA in Communications and a focus in public relations and interpersonal communication. During her college career, Kate conducted several ethnographic research projects in interpersonal communication and was invited to speak about her thesis at the WSCA conference. Prior to Monitor 360, Kate worked at Getaround, a peerpeer car sharing startup, and Forge, a gameplay sharing platform. She's deeply involved in local charities and cofounded You Are Super Duper, a charity aimed at helping young children with serious health afflictions. Outside of work, Kate enjoys an active lifestyle of hiking, and yoga. She also loves to spend her time sketching, painting, and reading. She’s passionate about travel and learning about other cultures.
Reinhard is an Economist and a Journalist originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. He received his Master of Science in International and Development Economics from the University of San Francisco, his Master of Arts in Journalism from New York University, and his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Santa Clara University. His recent research for his thesis examined the impacts of Armed Conflict onset and end on Foreign Direct Investment inflows into the countries involved. He’s incredibly interested in telling stories with data to fuse together his creative background in journalism and his analytical background in econometrics and research. Outside of work he loves travelling and rock climbing with his wife and spending time with their new born son. He’s also an avid photographer and a diehard Manchester United supporter.

Alex started his own company when he was 16 and has a passion in building web and software products. He studied Economics at the University of California, Davis. He furthered his career in working with international companies, big data products, and in the ondemand space. He also volunteers with a national nonprofit with 7 years under his belt, including 2 years of being on the Executive Board as Treasurer. On his spare time, you can find him building random Slack bots, automating his living space, mentoring and being mentored, and enjoying the company of family and friends.
Ali Machine Learning Engineer

Ali received his PhD in Signal Processing/Telecommunications from Finland. Following graduation, I joined University of California- Los Angeles (UCLA) as a post-doc, to study the various aspect of cognitive telecommunication transceivers. After two years of defrosting in LA, I joined semiconductor company Maxlinear based in Carlsbad, California. He moved to the Bay area as a Machine Learning (ML) engineer with a focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP). Throughout his career in academy and industry, he has authored/co-authored more than 20 conference and journal articles as well as one US patent. My current interests include, study of advance signal processing algorithms, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing/Understanding (NLP/NLU) and data analysis. In the rare occasions that I am not being an engineer, I read about history, humor and humanity to discover “the answer to life, the universe and everything”.
Emily Director, Analytics
| Emily’s prior experience spans business process engineering and strategic planning for private and public sector organizations. She has also worked in logistics asset management at the United Nations World Food Programme in Uganda and served as a public health educator as a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Madagascar. Emily holds a M. Eng. in Logistics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as a M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. She received her B.A. in International Studies from Boston College.
